Precision medicine acknowledges the uniqueness of each patient. By employing specific diagnostic tests, doctors can anticipate a patient’s response to treatment, optimizing dosage and duration. Unfortunately, the field of Immunology lacks precision tools for determining the best treatment, relying instead on one-size-fits-all approaches. Biohope emerged as an initiative to address this gap, aiming to impact patients directly with each scientific and medical advance. Our core mission is to advance the development of new solutions.
A significant milestone is the development and validation of our clinical test, the Immunobiogram for Renal Transplant. This innovative product requires only a blood sample. The Immunobiogram measures the immunosuppressive effect of drugs on a patient’s immune cells, correlating this sensitivity with clinical outcomes. The results are then delivered to clinicians, enhancing treatment personalization.
Moving forward, we aspire to expand our Immunobiogram platform to develop novel IVD tools for autoimmune diseases and other immune-based conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus nephritis.
We are exploring a solution to assess the efficacy of first-line treatments for autoimmune diseases, starting by rheumatoid arthritis with methotrexate. This second product is pending regulatory approval.
Our commitment extends to researching solutions for selecting the most appropriate JAK-inhibitors and biologic treatments for individual patients. Notably, there is no other test in development globally to personalize this category of treatment used across multiple indications.
